Does it turn you off when you visit an artist's website, and you have to purchase their products off site at a venue such as Etsy or Ebay?

I prefer to be sent to etsy instead of trying to buy my art off a first web page - like dA - I get a better chance of actually 'seeing' the art on dA. I can also see what other things the artist has in their gallery that I may like. Browsing is good!
If I start at etsy, I may never get around to buying anything. It's hard to get the info I want, I can't get a good picture of what I'm looking at, and I may get distracted and end up somewhere far, far away.
Just my thoughts.

Thanks for your thoughts. (sorry for the late response, I've been away from DA for awhile)

I have Paypal set up to do it.... plus also use etsy...ebay sucks for crafts...it really depends on what you are trying to sell.

And as for buying.... not really, it can feel more secure...I just feel better wheb it's through paypal (although I've been screwed over by them too..).

No, I love Etsy. I know I can trust the site and it's reassuring to use a site I'm familiar with.

Oddly enough I have only ever purchaced three or four items online (none of them art related) and do not have enough experience to give a real answer.

I actually like it better because it's more secure. The last time I purchased directly from an artist it was LITERALLY one year after I made the payment that I got the item.

But in general I don't buy actual objects from artists because I don't trust them any more. Commissions at most.

Nope because I know there are some things that DA can't sell because it's not their product.
